The Backstory
Gah, we love Wichita! We have done so many projects over the years with the City of Wichita that we could fill a portfolio dedicated just to them. Each project, each department we work with, has its own set of goals and obstacles and we eat-up the challenge. We have worked with a number of departments including parks & rec, transit, fire, police, human resources, economic development, library... the list is quite extensive and goes on. It’s exciting to have a hand in projects that better our great city.

Branding
Naftzger Park Logo Q-LINE (QUILT) Graphics Wichita Fire Department Logo Wichita Public LibraryFor decades, Naftzger Park was an iconic spot in Wichita. While we cherished the preceding space and what it brought to our city, we were thrilled to be a part of Naftzger Park’s reinvention in 2019. To start with, we created a new logo.
Wichita Transit asked Lifeboat Creative to refresh the Q-LINE with the launch of the new FREE trolley routes in May 2017. We took a chance and wowed them, going above and way beyond just a 'refresh'. We created an all new energized and flexible look and logo to be featured on all branding pieces.
The Wichita Fire Department asked us to combine their fire badge with the tagline “Wichita’s Bravest” as an alternative logo they could use in unique situations. This was one of the first projects we did for the City. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Keeping up with the times. The Wichita Public Library was looking to refresh their decades-old logo. They requested a cleaner, modernized approach with vibrant colors.

We were asked to put together rider-friendly schedules and maps for Wichita Transit. We choose a friendly font and made the text easy to read. We selected bright colors that not only complemented the city logo, but colors that also correlated to the bus routes.
We had the pleasure of working on a number of reports and guides for WFD. We worked closely with some of the wonderful people in the fire department and learned a lot about what they do to make our city grand. Our favorite to work on was the 125 years anniversary piece.
To promote the Q-LINE, posters, handouts and brochures were created and placed in restaurants, businesses and venues along the routes.
This piece was a labor of love. With months of planning and thought-inducing meetings, we worked closely with the Economic Development team to put out this glorious guide.
As previously stated, we could FILL a portfolio with all of the design we’ve done for the City. Community booklets for the police department, wellness brochures, infographs and beyond!

And More!
Trolley Graphics Wichita Transit Bus Vinyl Bus Stop Signage Human Resources DisplaysOnce a trolley, the Q-Line was a traveling billboard, telling riders to Ride the Q! Free, Quick, Easy! It was a huge success and a super fun ride!
If you live in or you’ve been to Wichita, you’ve seen the buses driving around town. You can’t miss them and they look pretty cool (of course we’re a little biased).
The previous transit bus signs were not branded and were barely noticeable. Transit created additional places for stops and put these up all over town.
The HR department requested a revamp of their career fair displays and handouts. We created an entirely new clean, easy-to-read design that was utilized on table toppers, business cards, brochures and banners.
